We are just about ready to begin our big trip, and although there’s not room for you in the Subaru, we’d still like you to ride along with us. So add this URL to your browser’s bookmarks and start checking in after April 6th — our “official” launch date. Don’t forget to bring along comfortable clothes, your walking shoes, and an appetite for the strange and wonderful sights we’ll see along the way!
See you on the road!

Trying to make me jealous? Succeeding.
And the trip is already a success! ;-p
I await your updates with baited breath. Hopefully you’re better updaters than we have been lately. Send lots of photos!
We’ll try hard — when we’re not sightseeing, dozing, eating, hiking, riding our bikes, sleeping, reading, etc., etc., etc.
Did you end up getting the roof rack for your bicycles instead of the trailer rack? I know you talked about it and it seemed like a more stable solution.
They were pretty pricy, and REI didn’t have what I wanted in stock, so we’re going with the old back-of-the-trailer rack. Maybe next time…
Just make sure to strap the heck out of everything or you may leave one of your bikes on the road and not realize it until 80 miles later. 😉
The bikes stayed on just fine today. They got very wet, but stayed in place perfectly. In fact, the weather is so bad that I just left them on the trailer overnight in the motel parking lot. It’s too cold and too wet and too windy to do anything else! The blog will provide more details when I get a chance to post. Stay tuned…

We wish you a trip full of wonderful adventures! Come see us – or Mom and Dad – if you pass our way.
Love,
Lisa
Be careful what you wish for! Seriously, we would very much like to see you guys. We’ll be in touch when we get closer, OK? Thanks for the offer!!
Man, wish that were me.
Wish we could take the Watsonville bunch along with us. Hope you can enjoy our trip vicariously, anyway!
Do you have any plan as to your route, or are you going to be like tumbleweeds – go wherever the wind takes you? Most importantly, be safe and have fun.
hope the weather is getting better.
We enjoyed two beautiful, sunny days, but now we’re back to more of the wet stuff — at least through Wednesday. Thanks for the good wishes!
